Tales From The Crypt

-John McCain just accepted the Republican nomination and adopted the most conservative platform in the history of his party. After days of negative attacks -- and no mention of real proposals to fix our economy, get more people health care, or make America safer -- the party that brought you eight years of disastrous policies is asking for four more. Well, not if we have anything to say about it. Across this nation, people like you have joined this movement because you believe that we are better than the past eight years. And now that we are entering the final stretch, it's going to take all of us to bring the change we need.
Step up at this crucial moment and make a donation of $5 or more to change our country. After the last eight years, it's up to you to keep America's promise alive. How can John McCain pull us out of the deep hole we're in when he voted with George Bush more than 90% of the time? The American people deserve more than a 10% chance at change. No matter what McCain says, we can't bring about change by relying on the same ideas that have failed us for the last eight years. Show the McCain campaign that people coming together, giving what they can afford, and working toward a common purpose will transform this country. Change begins with you.
Please make a donation of $5 or more now: http://my.barackobama.com/page/m/6f2129af5549001f/m5kp2N/VEsE/ Thanks for everything you're doing, Joe

Websites I Love

About once a week I will be posting about a new website I have found..Under Web Sites I Love....Here is one I found in Cosmo Girl Magazine!!
Help dig wells in Africa
Why?Because millions of Africans lack access to clean water. Because many Africans walk several miles every day to the nearest well to retrieve water. Because Africans living with HIV/AIDS live stronger and longer lives with access to clean water. Because I think Hair
Why?Because millions of Africans lack access to clean water. Because many Africans walk several miles every day to the nearest well to retrieve water. Because Africans living with HIV/AIDS live stronger and longer lives with access to clean water. Because I think Hair
Forecast can do much more than just help people with their hair!
How?Blood: Water Mission is building 1000 wells in 1000 communities in Africa and calling it the "1000 Wells Project". With every Hair Forecast served, I'm donating enough to the 1000 Wells Project to provide an African with one day's worth of clean water. Hair Forecast is not yet profitable, so initially this donation is coming out of my own pocket. So spread the word about Hair Forecast! Every day that you get your Hair Forecast means another day of clean water for an African. http://www.hairforecast.com/hairforecast/donation

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing, and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn' t feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw whenyou thought I wasn't looking.'
I AM SENDING THIS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW
WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS, BUT THINK THAT NO ONE EVER SEES.
LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT.
WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS, BUT THINK THAT NO ONE EVER SEES.
LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT.
Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, friend)
influences the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today? Just b y sending this to someone else, you will probably make them at least think about their influence on others.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.
Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Things that make you go hmmmm???? by Tina Marie
Date Night ???
Date Night ???
June 18 , 2008
How did you spend time together when you fell in love? How often did you go out when you were dating? It's time to start dating again....dating your spouse. Date night can work magic for your marriage.
There are some that say you need to get out of the house; no movies or entertainment that require you to face in the same direction; don't invite anyone else or attend a social function and schedule at least a couple of hours.
That's all cool. However, my husband and I love to cook. So our date night is sharing the prepping, cooking, serving, lots of wonderful conversation and a bottle of wine on the deck. Just the two of us, no TV, friends or family. It's perfect. Our gift to each other is the gift of time and undivided attention.
How do you spend date night? There are no right or wrong answers. It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals! May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

My good friend and I did just that last night, but at the time I didn't look at it as a date. Now that I look back, cooking in the kitchen with him and then sitting at the table talking and eating was very intimate to me. Then we went and sat on the porch and had a beer together, looking at the stars (what little stars you can see in the Seattle area.) And to think I was always bitchen about not being taken out to dinner or to the movies enough. Wow, you don't have to spend money to go on a date!!

A prophetic Robert F. Kennedy Speech Made in 1968

He gave a speech to the Voice of America all around the world 40 years ago. And despite what was going on in the country, particularly in Alabama, Bobby Kennedy said this: Things are "moving so fast in race relations a Negro could be president in 40 years." This is in 1968, we're now in 2008. "`There's no question about it,' the attorney general said. `In the next 40 years a Negro can achieve the same position that my brother has.' ... Kennedy said that prejudice exists and probably will continue to ... `But we have tried to make progress and we are making progress. We are not going to accept the status quo.

"The wealth of the greedy/African Proverb
"The wealth of the greedy
ultimately goes to the community".
Americanized Version:
If there are two brothers in a home,
both must work to feed the family."
Which is the very meaning of this Brass- Two Headed Crocodile

A popular symbol in Africa,
where other people groups use it to
symbolize the futility of greed

Dream Tonight
Ever look to the sky
ask yourself and wonder why
When a heart breaks and wants to cry
It mends for another try
Gaze into the heaven above
Searching for one true love
the sky transforms into night
Hazing your mind with sight
And Dream
Oh Yea Dream
Dream on with all your might
Dream on throughout the night
Ponder your thoughts away
Dreams turning night to day
So Dream
Oh Yeah Dream
The power of love at night
Like a dream a vision of light
sparks fly every which way
Turns day to night so they say
So Dream
Oh Yea Dream
Miracles do come true
Clouds go, the sky turns blue
The darkness of night comes by
so dreams can fill the sky
Dream on with all your might
Dream on throughout the night
The power of love at night
Like dreams. A vision of light
So Dream
Oh Yea Dream
Gaze to the heaven above
seek out your one true love
Ponder your thoughts away
Dreams turning night to day
Sparks fly every which way
Turns day to night so they say
So Dream
Oh Yea Dream
Dream Oh Yea Dream

HOPE

After you once raised your voice to me
Then your hand
Then your fist
I lost respect
for you
for myself
for us...What we once were
and never will be again.
I live in hope
that you will change
that I won't feel guilty
that we will be happy
that you will stop drinking
that you will DIE
My hope is a pipe-dream
I live in hope.

S.P.E.M. PRAYER

I bow my knees to the Father . . . that He would grant you . . . to be strengthened with might through His Spirit. —Ephesians 3:14,16
A friend sent me an e-mail that concluded with a list of prayer requests. She said, “Spiritually, I am confused, so pray for understanding. Physically, I am tired, so pray for rest. Emotionally, I am very weak, so pray for strength. Mentally, I am worried, so pray for peace.”

When I saw her later, I told her, “I’ve been SPEM praying for you.” She looked confused, so I told her I was praying for her spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Scripture illustrates God’s care in each of these areas.
Spiritual: Jesus prayed for His disciples: “Sanctify them by Your truth” (John 17:17). Truth leads to spiritual understanding, eliminating confusion.
Physical: Peter had a physical need—release from jail. His friends prayed—and he got out (Acts 12:1-11). In God’s care we find security and rest (Ps. 16:9).
Emotional: Often the psalmists asked God for relief from distress (4:1; 18:6; 107:6-7). He brings hope.
Mental: Insight and wisdom are promised for those who cry out to God (Prov. 2:3-6; James 1:5-7). Through prayer and reading His Word, the peace of God can be found.
Are you struggling? Ask God for spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental assistance. — Dave Branon

Tips on pumping Gas... Very intersting!!

ON PUMPING GASwe're paying $3.53 a gallon for regular unleaded her in Washington. Here are some tips from someone working in petrolium..
I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are also paying higher, up to $3.50 per gallon. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here aresome tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon..
Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose , CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.
Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.
A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3)stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are create ed while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.
DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS!
WHERE TO BUY USA GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON
Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.
An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the pockets of Saudi Arabians . Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me , my family, and my friends.
I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon/Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels
Citgo gas is from South America , from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..................0 barrels
Conoco................. .0 barrels
Sinclair..................0 barrels
BP/ Phillip s.............0 barrels
Hess......................0 barrels
ARC0.....................0 barrels
If you go to Sunoco.com <" target=_blankhttp://sunoco.com/>; , you will get a list of the station locations near you.
All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.
Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!This was sent to me by a relative in an e-mail. Feel free to copy this message on your blog or wherever!!
I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) .. and so on, by the ti me the me ssage reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take?

Check out my new home based internet business.
Direct Tv offers free instillation, free dish and free up to 4 rooms starting at $39.99 a month.

There Comes A Time...

There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or at who made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection. Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.
Think of all the great women in the Bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood, and Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land!
Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, "What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. that woman could be ME.
Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi. Pass this on to all the women in your life. Encourage and love, forgive and forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way.
May the Peace and Love of Christ be upon you!

$20 Dollar Bill

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill.
In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE. You are special - Don't EVER forget it." If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it can bring. Count your blessings, not your problems. "And remember: amateurs built the ark .. professionals built the Titanic. If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

I AM YOUR DISEASE

I hate meetings. I hate higher power. I hate anyone who has a program. To all who come in contact with me, I wish you death, and I wish you suffering.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am the disease of ALCOHOLISM, DRUG ADDICTION.
Cunning, baffling, and powerful. That's me. I have killed millions and I am pleased. I love to catch YOU WITH THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE. I LOVE PRETENDING I AM YOUR FRIEND AND LOVER. I HAVE GIVEN YOU COMFORT, HAVE I NOT? WASN'T I THERE WHEN YOU WERE LONELY? WHEN YOU WANTED TO DIE, DIDN'T YOU CALL ME? I was there.
I love to make you hurt. I love to make you cry. Better yet, I love when I make you so numb you can neither hurt nor cry. You can't feel anything at all. This is true glory. I will give you instant gratification and all I ask of you is long term suffering. I've been there for you always. When things were going right in your life, you invited me. You said you didn't deserve these good things and I was the only one who would agree with you. Together we were able to destroy all things good in your life.
People don't take me seriously. They take strokes seriously, heart attacks, even diabetes they take seriously, fools that they are. They don't know that without my help, these things would not be possible.
I am such a hated disease. And yet, I do not come uninvited. You choose to have me. So many have chosen me over reality and peace.
More than you hate me, I hate all of you, who have a 12 Step Program. Your Program, your meetings, your higher power. All weaken me and I can't function in the manner I am accustomed to.
Now I must lie here Quietly. You don't see me, but I am growing, bigger than ever. When you only exist, I may live. When you live I only exist, but I am here...And until we meet again,....I wish you PAIN and SUFFERING, and DEATH!

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have the compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
